This is Bushcraft with a difference. A truly amazing time experiencing woodland survival and nature awareness.

At Woodland Skills we aim to provide you and your offspring with an exhilarating weekend packed full of adventure, learning and lots of fun. A time and space where you can really get to know each other.

This course is not designed as an endurance test or ‘boot camp’. We are here to provide you with the opportunity to come and enjoy hanging out with your kids in a beautiful woodland setting. Learning basic camp craft skills such a lighting a fire and making a shelter, playing games and of course lots of whittling!

At the end of a long day you will be able to retire to one of our comfortably kitted out Yurts where you and your offspring can snuggle down for the night listening to the hoots of the owls and snuffling of the badgers. No struggling into a small and uncomfortable tent with an extremely hard floor. We understand that you have to be on form for the office on Monday, not arriving as though you have been dragged through a hedge backwards!

This little concession to comfort does not mean you will not be getting your hands, and probably most other pieces of your anatomy, dirty. After all show me a chap that can build a shelter with out managing to end up looking like a scare crow.

Never fear should your feisty 12 year old and his mate wish to do the Rambo thing they can pop up their tent in the camping area close by and that means you get the comfort zone to yourself.

Its a good idea to bring your tucker so that at the end of a busy day you and the sprogs can sit around your fire bowl and amaze each other with your culinary skills.

Simply a time filled with Fun, Fire and Fabulous Food

Places are limited to 6 Dads and their offspring.

We have four yurts spacious enough for Dad +1-2 sprogs and Two extra large ones for a couple Dads and their off spring. So why not get a group of your mates or colleagues together and book the whole camp. For a truly authentic ‘Boys Own’ weekend.

Remember you will be living and surviving in a woodland environment. It is only to be expected that you may well burn stain or otherwise damage any equipment you bring. If you are not sure about the suitability of your kit please ask. Woodland Skills can not accept any responsibility for the condition of your kit. We regularly consider potential risks and have an outstanding safety record.

Please be aware that the nature of this course is adventurous and you may encounter the odd bump, bruise and burn (remember you will be making fire). All our staff are fully first aid trained and more than able to deal with any accidents.
