introduction to green woodwork
This two day course will give you a initial understanding and practical experience in the history, tools and techniques of green woodwork (the use of unseasoned wood).
From an introduction to essential concepts of design and the selection of un-crafted wood, we will take you through the appropriate use of the traditional tools of the trade to create a finished piece.
Designed as an introduction, this course focuses on giving you plenty of time to practice using the new tools and developing your skills in this area.
The course includes the safe use and maintenance of tools such as axes, wedges, draw knives and pole-lathes.
All tools and materials are included in the cost.

We will be providing a delicious woodland lunch and snacks that the whole team can enjoy. If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know when you book.
Wear appropriate clothes as described in the kit list, you will be working outside.
Please Note: This course takes place in a woodland setting and this by its very nature is not completely hazard free. We ask that all participants abide by the safety instructions and information given by our instructors. All our staff are fully trained in first aid and more than able to deal with any minor accidents.
Please be aware that a reasonable level of fitness is required for you to enjoy and gain the most benefit from this course.
