This course is designed for anyone who has an interest in traditional woodland skills from the novice to the seasoned volunteer. We invite you come and enjoy a refreshing break from your every day routine and enjoy life in a coppice camp.
Based on intensive practical experience you will learn the traditional techniques used for centauries to maintain and gain a living from Coppice woodland.
The course includes information on:
History and traditions
Habitats and conservation- species identification
Health and Safety
Safe use of hand tools including billhook and axe
camp craft and rustic furniture
tool sharpening and maintenance
stool reduction and layering techniques
understanding the canopy

In keeping with the woodland camp theme we will provide a cooking fire to keep the teas a flowing.
