Join us as we explore the natural surroundings of our native woodland. Rediscover the traditional uses of a variety of native species.

This one day course will explore some local seasonal plants and their various uses. Together we will identify and gather some edible and tasty varieties and give you guidance on the different ways prepare them. Many alternative uses of these natural resources will also be explained and demonstrated, from making cordage to recognising a plant plaster.

This course is packed full of demonstrations and practical knowledge designed to give you a better understanding of the wealth of natural materials available to the wanderer.
We will be providing a delicious woodland lunch and snacks that the whole team can enjoy. If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know at time of booking.
Please wear appropriate clothes
as described in the kit list.
You will also need to bring:
• Water bottle
• Notebook and pencil
• Day rucksack and a container to collect your findings in
Although this course is not designed as an endurance test a reasonable level of fitness is required as we will sped the majority of our time wandering in the woods discovering the myriad of uses of our natural flora.

Remember you will be in a woodland environment. It is only to be expected that you may well stain or otherwise damage any equipment you bring. Please be aware that this course takes place in a woodland setting and that this by its very nature is not completely hazard free. We ask that all participants abide by the safety instructions and information given by our instructors. All our staff are fully first aid trained and more than able to deal with any minor accidents.
