This is an example of the areas covered. Each course may vary as Sara will structure the course to the ability and interests of the participants.

Day 1

Saturday 9am - 5pm

9.00 am Arrivals and introductions

9.30 am Presentation talk with slides in the barn and building a clamp kiln.

11.00 am Tea break followed by a walk through the woods to dig clay and the preparation of clay and adding temper.

1.00 pm Lunch

2.00 pm Building pottery, with demonstrations of pinch, coil and strap methods and later during the afternoon, demonstrations of impressed and incised decorative techniques, their tools and also techniques for fitting decoration to form. Burnishing.

5.30 pm Departures

Day two

Sunday 10.30a,m - 5.00pm

10.30am Arrivals and recap

11.00am Building and preparing the fire for open firing

12.30 am Lunch

1.15 pm Opening yesterday's clamp kiln

2.00 pm Firing your pottery in an open fire.
